Reading Week - 2021

Between the pages………!! National Public School, Kalkere celebrated on the virtual platform, its annual English Reading Week from 15th to 23rd July 2021. “Books and doors are the same things. You open them and go through another world”. Yes, through the week, students from classes 1-9 and 11 stepped into the literary horizons of book reviewing, innovative story-ends, story mapping, quizzes, creating masks of their favorite characters, and poster making. Working around assigned books, students made Page Markers, Pocket Dictionaries, and Word chimes. The Piece de Resistance of the programme was the Bookie Jar. Their wholehearted involvement in reading, speaking, creating, and writing was praiseworthy. Reading Week culminated with a grand Closing Ceremony which was graced by Mr. Narayan Parasuram, Co-founder of Karadi Tales Company. Our Principal Ma’am also had inspirational words for the young student readers. Our Vice Principal Ma’am summed it up eloquently, by urging them to: “Read, Read, Read!” ………… and so, we reinforce our faith in “Today a reader, tomorrow a leader”!!
