Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium - Grade 6

On the 24th of October 2019, the students of grade 6 went for their field trip to Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and the Science Park.

It is always said that students learn more when they see models and live experiments. The interactive science exhibits of the Science Park and the gallery helped in igniting the young minds. The model of the Earth with continents shown on it attracted the students' immediate attention due to its large size. The students also enjoyed seeing the Newton color plate, musical pipes, kaleidoscope, Archimedes pump and the anti-gravity cottage - a room wherein seemingly weird things happen at the cost of violating the force of gravity.

After exploring ‘Science Park', the students were taken to the sky-theatre - the star attraction of the planetarium. The students enjoyed the show 'Our Solar System on the night sky of the hemispherical dome-shaped theatre. The forty-minute audio-visual program mesmerized young minds. The students learned about prominent constellations and mythological stories associated with them. A journey through the planetarium and the science park makes us believe that science is what makes our life possible. It was a great learning experience for the students where they witnessed a scientific ride through the planetarium and the park.
