Karnataka Rajyotsava


Karnataka Rajyotsava or Kannada Day, also known as Karnataka Formation Day is celebrated on 1st November of every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka. Rajyotsava day is celebrated with great joy and vigour all over the state of Karnataka.The entire state wears a festive look on this day as the red and yellow Kannada flags are hoisted at different strategic locations across the state and the Kannada anthem(“Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate”) is chanted.

We at National Public School, Kalkere celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava Day on 13th November 2019 on a grand scale. The students from grades 1 to 7 were involved in putting up a grand cultural programme to commemorate the Karnataka Formation Day. The day began with the hoisting of the Karnataka flag and chanting of the state anthem. The students beautifully rendered the invocation song and welcomed the dignitaries to begin the ceremonies with the lighting of the lamp. The students displayed their passion and enthusiasm through song, dance and enactment.
