Language Reading Week
A Celebration of Creativity and Expression!!
The school campus at National School, Kalkere came alive from Tuesday 7 to Monday 13 July 2026 with a vibrant festival of language, literature, music, and art, where students from Classes 3 to 12 participated in a wide array of enriching activities.
Page Turn 2026 unfolded as a vibrant celebration of imagination, teamwork, and self-expression, weaving together a rich tapestry of literary and cultural experiences. The festivities opened with a grand ceremony in the morning assembly, where the Principal’s inspiring words and the formal declaration of the event set the tone for the week. Students showcased their talents through a lively skit, Turning Pages Across Languages, melodious songs, orchestral presentations and spirited performances. Creativity flourished in activities like Words in Illustration, language explorations in Hindi and Kannada, caption writing, and poetry, while literature blended seamlessly with craft in bookmark-making, imaginative challenges, and reinterpretations of classics. Language enrichment took centre stage with engaging exercises that strengthened skills and encouraged collaboration and structured writing sessions. The Closing Ceremony brought reflection and inspiration, with students sharing their experiences through Read, Retell, Reflect and listening to an enlightening Author Speak session by Ms Meena Raghunathan, before the Vice Principal formally declared the event closed. More than a series of activities, Page Turn 2026 embodied the school’s commitment to holistic education, leaving students enriched, inspired, and eager to continue exploring the boundless world of literature and culture.
