Walkathon

As an extension of our Environment Day celebrations, National Public School, Kalkere
proudly hosted a spirited Walkathon for Environmental Awareness on Sunday, 7th June 2026 at the school grounds. The event commenced at 6:30 a.m., bringing together students, parents, teachers, and alumni in shades of green, symbolising unity with nature.
The morning began with the school prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech by the MC
and an inspiring address by the Principal. To energise the participants, a lively warm-up
session was conducted, setting the tone for the 5 km walk. The symbolic ribbon-cutting
ceremony marked the official start of the Walkathon. Participants joyfully walked the route, reaffirming their commitment to a cleaner, greener planet. Adding to the significance of the occasion, esteemed police officials—Mr. Satish, Circle Inspector (Law and Order), Ramamurthy Nagar, and Mr Buddegowda, Assistant Sub-Inspector—graced the event by joining the walkathon. Their presence not only enhanced the spirit of unity but also underscored the importance of our collective cause.
The event concluded with the Vice Principal addressing the gathering, reinforcing the
importance of collective action for environmental preservation. Thereafter, a token of appreciation was awarded to the most enthusiastic participant and the prompt and punctual parent, followed by parent feedback highlighting the joy and pride of being part of such a meaningful initiative.
This Walkathon was not just a physical stride but a symbolic journey—an embodiment of our
school’s pledge to nurture environmentally conscious citizens.
