World Environment Day

A Commitment to Protect and Preserve!!
In a powerful demonstration of environmental awareness, National Public School, Kalkere,
hosted an elaborate and inspiring programme celebrating the theme End Plastic Pollution.
Embrace Sustainable Alternatives- carrying this spirit forward, the school observed World
Environment Day on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with a vibrant array of activities involving
students across all grades. The day commenced with an insightful student talk during the
morning assembly, setting the stage for a series of engaging creative initiatives. Students
showcased their artistic ingenuity through eco-friendly photo frames, thought-provoking
slogans displayed on a tree-shaped wall hanging, and handcrafted newspaper bags. Their commitment to conservation extended to creative writing, where they expressed their ideas through poignant pieces such as The Elegy of a Plastic and a comic strip capturing a dynamic dialogue between Plastic and Paper.
Presiding over the day's events, Principal Ms Shyla Purushotham and Vice Principal Ms
Sumedha Seshu shared inspiring and impactful messages, encouraging the school fraternity to
be proactive stewards of the environment. The Environmental Day Pledge was administered by the Principal, reinforcing the commitment to sustainability.
